conceptual has never proved as wearable. in miyake’s latest collection, the master of “the other way of dressing” proves his genius, backed up by his inimitable “other way of constructing clothes”.

voluminous, kite-like pieces were steamed onstage, causing them to morph into dresses that were at once new and familiar. how an abstract and seemingly shapeless piece magically transforms into one of almost conventional beauty attests to the miyake line’s genius, and awareness of the markets.

through all of its technological triumphs and futuristic postulations, miyake still delivers clothes that are organic, warm and unquestionably of-the-moment.
